Amalfi is one of the ancient Maritime Republics. Here you’ll be enchanted by the majestic St. Andrew Cathedral: a mixture of different architectural styles, its golden decorations, its arches and a magnificent long staircase. Inside, you can visit the Cloister of Paradise, an Arab-style construction dating back to the 12th century. I recommend visiting the historical Paper Mills and the Arts and Crafts Museum too. Walking through the town, don’t miss a taste of delicious desserts made with local lemons such as Delizia al Limone or buy Limoncello liqueur, an excellent digestive, as a souvenir.
